I have submitted the final course grades
(anonymous sorted list)
to the registrar.
The anonymous sorted grades for the final exam,
Final/sorted_grades.txt.
-
I will be in my office Monday May 2 from 2-4pm to answer questions.
-
The anonymous sorted grades for the combined homeworks scaled to 25,
hw_sorted_grades.txt.
The webassign portion is 332 points.
The portion submitted on paper to me is worth 23 points for Homework 3
and 45 points for Homework 4, plus 5 bonus points for Homework 2, hence
a possible total of 405/400 (times 25 for the 25% portion of the grade).
I have one paper Homework 4 without a name.
-
30 of you received 5% towards your final grade for missing
no more than 2 classes unexcused.
-
The final exam is on Wed May 4, 9am-11am in our class room.
You may bring three 8.5in by 11in sheets with notes

Correction to what I said in class: the vector space dimension of
the eigenspace (geometric multiplicity) is not always a factor
of the algebraic multiplicity
of the corresponding eigenvalue. An example is
A:=Matrix(3,3,[[0,0,1],[0,0,0],[0,0,0]]); The eigenvalue 0 has
algebraic multiplicity 3, but the dimension of the nullspace
of 0 I_3 - A is 2.

Starting Fri, Jan 8, our class starts at 10:35am and stops at 11:35am,
meeting for 60 minutes.
There are 36 lectures for a total of 50 + 35∗60 = 2,150 = 43∗50 minutes.
The semester spans 16 weeks Wed Jan 6-Mon Apr 25 with 15 weeks of instruction [exclusive Spring Break]
where 1 Monday [MLK Holiday Jan 18] and 1 Friday [Mar 25, Spring Holiday]
have no class → 43 classes of 50 minutes.
Friday lectures are held January 8 through February 19, a total of 7 lectures,
but there are no Friday lectures February 26 through and April 22, that is, 7 Fridays.
Last day of class is Mon Apr 25.
Please let me know if you cannot arrive 5 minutes before and/or leave
5 minutes after the regularly scheduled class time.
