of notes (with text on both sides).

Several of you on Homework 4 wrote a Jacobi symbol (n/2) or (n/6), which is undefined for even
denominators. Instead, when applying quadratic reciprocity and keeping all
denominators odd, factor powers of 2 from the numerator of the Jacobi symbol,
((2e·m)/b) = (2/b)e· (m/b), where m is odd,
and (2/b) = (-1)(b²-1)/8. Then you can apply quadratic reciprocity to (m/b).
