Old Announcements

I have put the textbook (Roberts, Discrete Mathematical Models) on reserve in the Hill Liberary.
The course web site taught in Fall 1999 contains old homeworks and mid-semester exams.
The first homework, due on Tuesday Sep 4, is complete. Dennis Jen pointed out some typos on problem 3, that are (hopefully) fixed now (Aug 30, 16h10).
My office hours are listed on my schedule.
Homework is due on Friday, Sep 14, before 17h00, in my mailbox in HA 245.
Extra office hours tomorrow, 13h00-14h00.
Terrorism: I am shocked about the acts that happened in New York and elsewhere during our class, whose extent is incomparable to what I would have expected possible. Our discussion during class on attacks of the Internet seems insignificant now.
Homework 2 is complete.
I will be in Japan from Sep 18 to Oct 1. Will Turner and John P. May will be teaching class and proctoring the first exam. His topic is fair elections, which was moved up from the end of the syllabus. Please note the re-arrangement of the syllabus. No exam dates are affected.
The first mid-semester exam is on Thursday, Sep 20, during class time. You can bring an 8.5 by 11 inches sheet of paper with notes on both sides. The exam is closed book and closed notes.
